Secure email

Your correspondents see immediately that a message really comes from you

An email certificate signs your messages and makes it possible to encrypt them. In their mail software, your correspondents can see that the message really came from your address and was not altered on the way.

What the offers cover

Setup — we take on your file entirely: preparing and filing the request, following it through to issuance, putting it into service and guiding you through your first signed message.

Service subscription — support for the whole duration of the subscription, reinstallation when you change hardware, troubleshooting of updates, help with access codes, and safekeeping of your file.

Renewal and compliance fee — as an accredited identity confirmation point, Lux-World PC is bound by ongoing obligations: record keeping, monitoring of deadlines, GDPR compliance, maintaining its operators’ accreditation and audits by the certification authority. This fee covers those obligations.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly do my correspondents see?
Their email client shows a mark indicating that the message is signed and that its contents have not been altered since it was sent. A message claiming to come from your address without that signature will not have it.
Does my correspondent need a certificate too?
Not for signing: common email clients verify an S/MIME signature with nothing for the recipient to install. Yes for encryption: encrypting a message to someone requires that person to hold a certificate as well.
Will it work with my email software?
S/MIME is a standard, supported natively by the main clients — Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird — on computers and phones alike. Setup includes installation and support for your first signed message.
Is one certificate needed per address?
Yes. The certificate is tied to one specific email address, and it is that address your correspondents see verified. Pricing decreases from the second address onwards.
Who issues the certificate?
The certification authority Certum. Lux-World PC puts the application together, follows it through to issuance, then installs the certificate on your devices.
